James B. Havard was a long-time resident of Galena Park, and he cared deeply about his community and his school district. He served on the ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Board of Trustees from 1966 until 1994. He also served on the State UIL Executive Board, served one term as Mayor of Galena Park, and was the owner of Havard Welding Supply Company for 44 years. Mr. Havard had a long history of service to the ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ community. In 1996, James B. Havard Elementary was named in his honor. Evidence of his contributions to our district are on display throughout our campuses and facilities.
